No More Waiting - Walter's Home!

Walter is waiting no more. This weekend he moved into his forever home in Arlington. He seems really happy so far and is behaving so well.

When he first got to his new home, Walter ran around sniffing everything. He's a hound dog, and you can tell he's got a great nose! After that, he ran to his new crate and curled up. He really loves that thing and can usually be found snoozing in it when he's not out playing or trying to sneak some treats.



(It's not too small, we promise! He just likes to lie with his head outside of it sometimes.)

Walter is super excited about some of his new toys. He has a stuffed beaver that he takes with him EVERYWHERE. Sometimes he'll take it in his mouth, toss it up in the air, wait a few seconds in a crouch, and then pounce on it. It's so adorable. He also looooves trying to lick peanut butter out of his Kong.

When Walter first arrived, he was pretty dirty. But he got a bath and now he's just the most handsome dog you ever saw. He really struts his stuff when he goes out for walks in the neighborhood. He loves to get pets from everyone who walks by. Sometimes he even goes running with his new family. They're embarrassed to admit that he's in better shape than his human friends!

Walter seems really happy in his new home. His new family loves nothing more than to cuddle up with him on the floor and rub his tummy -- that's his favorite thing in the world. He could get tummy rubs all day long. Walter doesn't have to wait anymore for a forever home, because now he has one, full of people who adore him.

Walter loves the baby

Walter is so sweet and gentle, even with our 1 year old baby! I take him and our baby girl, Andriana, on walks together and he walks very well next to the somewhat large and awkward stroller. Andriana loves to feed Walter cheerios and giggles each time he takes one from her.

Walter loves the porch

Walter loves being outside on the porch! He is taking to his new environment very well, and enjoying life. After a morning jog, he is happiest lounging around the porch, watching the birds fly by. When we come closer, he's quick to wag his tail and get in position for a quality belly rub! He is so sweet! Today we went to the dog park. At first he just did the same thing he does on the porch - lay around like a tired doggie, but then a lab puppy came along and Walter got a little playful. I think he's starting to come out of his shell!

Walter Goes To His Foster Home

This handsome boy is Walter. He is a 4 year old tricolor hound who weighs approximately 50 lbs. Lucky Walter moved to his new foster home in DC this week and he is so happy to be out of that nasty shelter.

Walter is as friendly as they get. He wants to greet everyone he sees on the street with a wagging tail. He ignores the resident cat in his foster home and is sweet and gentle with his foster "mom"s toddler. Walter likes other dogs too. Walter is crate trained and is making great progress on his housetraining - he should have it down in just a few more days. He walks well on the leash and is a good jogging partner. Walter looks forward to finding his new forever home.
